Novak Djokovic’s Wife Sends Clear Message Ahead of Wimbledon Final

The 39-year-old Novak Djokovic had every reason to take pride in his performance, even after a straight-sets semifinal defeat to Jannik Sinner at Wimbledon. His wife, Jelena Djokovic, shared that sentiment in a moment of quiet grace. Shortly after the loss, Jelena posted a video on Instagram showing her strolling behind Novak and their children, Stefan and Tara, as they walked through the grounds of the All-England Club. Accompanying the clip was a heartfelt caption in which she vowed to “follow” her family through all the ups and downs, underscoring her unwavering devotion: I follow you @djokernole. Blessed, healthy, together, let’s move forward!
Like his wife, Djokovic appeared at peace with himself in the wake of the setback. After two challenging weeks at SW19, he acknowledged that he had been outmatched by a younger, quicker, and more athletic opponent. Many analysts noted that Djokovic seemed emotionally and physically exhausted following a grueling five-set showdown with No. 3 seed Felix Auger-Aliassime, all while contending with a sore calf. In the end, Sinner proved to be too formidable for the 39-year-old veteran.
“I always have the highest expectations for myself,” Djokovic remarked after the match. “There’s that internal battle of what I’ve endured for more than 20 years, what the goals were, the expectations… and trying to balance it with a bit more humility. I still enjoy the thrill of competition. Maybe I don’t enjoy all the hard weeks leading up to big tournaments, putting myself through a lot of pain, physically mostly. I’m glad that this tournament the body held up pretty well.”
Defending champion Jannik Sinner will advance to Sunday’s men’s final to face Alexander Zverev, with the prospect of defending the title and securing his first major of the year. Analysts have also noted that Zverev, fresh off his French Open triumph, poses a genuine threat to Sinner. Even with the clear favoritism toward Sinner, there’s a sense of underdog determination in the air as the final approaches.
“I think the weather is going to be warm, which should suit a big server like Zverev,” Sinner said ahead of the final. “He’s definitely a big server. In any case, I’ll try to do my best on Sunday. It’s good to be back in a Grand Slam final, and I’ll just give my best effort. Whatever happened in the past between us, it happened. He won a slam in Paris, which gave him confidence. We can see the level he’s producing here. We all hope for a good match. Then we’ll see how it goes.”
