The banged-up Carolina Panthers may be hamstrung in more ways than one.Bleacher Report’s Brad Gagnon recently predicted every NFL team’s strategy heading into the trade deadline—determining if each front office should buy, sell or stand pat. Gagnon classifies the 3-4 Panthers as “light buyers” off their Week 8 loss to the Green Bay Packers:You can’t sell when you’re in first place, right? But what would be the point in buying big when it’s unlikely to put you over the top? Besides, they rank 31st in the NFL in cap space. As Gagnon points out, Carolina might have trouble making a difference-making move given their lack of salary cap space. They currently, according to Over The Cap, have $553,061 of room to work with—the second-lowest amount in the league. That does not bode well for the roster considering their mounting list of injuries. The Panthers could use help on their offensive line, defensive line, edge and, perhaps most desperately, at cornerback.Follow @ThePanthersWire on Twitter/X for more Panthers content. This article originally appeared on Panthers Wire: Panthers classified as ‘light buyers’ for NFL trade deadline
