Diego Coppola, 22, who spent the latter half of the previous season on loan at Paris FC from Brighton & Hove Albion, is poised to make his move to the Stade Jean Bouin permanent, according to a report from Le Parisien. Coppola joined Paris FC on loan from Brighton in January, making 14 appearances for Les Parisiens under the management of Stéphane Gilli and later Antoine Kombouaré. It remained unclear at the time whether his stint at the Stade Jean Bouin would be extended beyond the summer.
Recently, Paris FC announced the appointment of Liam Rosenior, formerly of Chelsea and with prior connections to Brighton, as their new head coach, signaling a broader shift after Kombouaré’s brief but productive spell concluded. The club is pressing forward with its transfer strategy as they look to shape the squad for the upcoming season.
Paris FC have chosen to invest heavily to secure Coppola’s services. Although the Italian defender had seemed set to return to Brighton, his strong preference to remain in the French capital prompted a change in plans. Coppola is now on track to sign a five-year contract after a deal valued at €20 million, including add-ons, was agreed with Brighton. The move underscores Paris FC’s commitment to reinforcing their squad and reflects Coppola’s desire to continue playing in Ligue 1.
