Goosby grabbed his left knee and was not able to put weight on that leg when he got into the cart. The preseason All-American did not return to the game, watching the remainder of it on crutches.Coleman left the game after the first play of the third quarter when he landed on his left shoulder trying to make a diving catch. After going into the locker room to receive medical attention, Coleman did not return. At the running back position, Texas was only able to play freshman running back Derrek Cooper for a handful of snaps after he appeared on the pregame injury report on Friday before being removed prior to the game, finishing with one catch for seven yards.“Derek had been banged up and sick this week,” Sarkisian said.Like Cooper, Texas is banged up after playing three games following the season’s only bye week. Five more games loom before the end of the regular season.“I’d be remiss if I didn’t say, this is the ultimate team sport. We played without Colin Simmons. We played without Hollywood Smothers. We essentially played the entire game without Trevor Goosby, and the majority of the game without Cam Coleman,” Sarkisian said.“And we played the number seven or eight team in the country and won by a touchdown. So I’m proud of our team because we said we needed to win as a team, and the team won tonight, and so that was really cool. I can’t wait, and hopefully we can get these guys back sooner rather than later.”
