Squawka data reveal a historic milestone: for the first time in World Cup history, the four highest-ranked nations have all reached the semi-finals. Spain will meet France on Tuesday in Dallas, while England take on Argentina in the other semi-final in Atlanta.
France currently sit atop the FIFA rankings as the world’s top team, having produced a dominant run throughout the tournament. Argentina, the reigning champions, are ranked second despite not always showing their best form in this edition. Spain hold the number-three spot in the rankings, and England—led by their strong Euro-winning team—enter the semi-finals ranked fourth.
The upcoming clashes will feature a constellation of star power: Kylian Mbappe and Lamine Yamal will be among the key players for France and Spain, while Lionel Messi and Jude Bellingham will drive their sides in the other semi-final. These players will be aiming to steer their nations toward a historic triumph this summer.
