He struggled in the starting role as he consistently failed to protect the football. Levis threw 16 interceptions in his first two seasons in addition to 17 fumbles and 69 sacks taken for 418 lost yards.There were some flashes of potential from Levis, as the Kentucky product made 31 big-time throws in 2023 and 2024, according to Pro Football Focus (PFF). But he made just as many turnover-worthy plays. The young gunslinger also occasionally showed off his dual-threat capabilities with 240 rushing yards and a touchdown on 70 attempts. In total, Levis led the Titans to a 5-16 record in his 21 starts.In 2025, Tennessee selected quarterback Cam Ward with the No. 1 overall pick, and Levis missed the entire season after undergoing surgery on his throwing shoulder. Ward started all 17 games for the Titans, compiling a 3-14 record, while also leading the NFL with 55 sacks taken for 410 lost yards. The rookie threw 15 touchdowns and seven interceptions in 2025 – two more touchdowns and five fewer interceptions than Levis had in five fewer games in 2024.In the offseason, the Titans signed veterans Mitchell Trubisky and Hendon Hooker in free agency to compete with Levis for the backup job.
