Two Championship sides interested in Johnny Kenny

Two English Championship clubs are reportedly showing interest in Celtic striker Johnny Kenny, according to several outlets. The 23-year-old Irish international has shown occasional flashes of quality at Celtic but has rarely secured regular first-team opportunities, spending the latter half of last season on loan with Bolton Wanderers in League One.
Kenny made an impact at Bolton, scoring six goals and helping the club secure promotion to the Championship, before an injury sidelined him late in the campaign. The injury was not as severe as first feared, and he has since been pictured training with Celtic teammates in Portugal as he works his way back to peak fitness. Bolton are said to be among the clubs monitoring his situation, with London side Millwall also linked as a potential suitor for the forward, who has earned two caps for the Republic of Ireland.
Celtic are understood to be asking for a figure in the £1.5 to £2 million range to consider selling Kenny, who signed a new contract with Celtic in 2029. Since joining Celtic in 2022 from Sligo Rovers for an undisclosed fee, he has made 32 first-team appearances and scored seven goals. His loan spells have included time with Queens Park, Shamrock Rovers, and Bolton.
Despite Kenny’s position in Celtic’s squad, manager Martin O’Neill is unlikely to rush a sale due to a relatively thin attacking lineup, which currently relies on Callum Osmond and the recently announced Camilo Durán for depth. If Kelechi Iheanacho were to re-sign with the club in the coming weeks, Celtic’s attacking options could be bolstered further, potentially influencing Kenny’s future at the club.
