UAE Team Emirates’ Tadej Pogačar wins Tour de France Stage 14

Stage 14 of the 2026 Tour de France delivered a short but punishing mountain test on Saturday, July 18, as riders faced a demanding route from Mulhouse to Le Markstein Fellering. The stage packed four categorized climbs into a compact course and featured roughly 3,800 meters, or nearly 12,500 feet, of elevation gain, creating one of the most intense climbing days of this year’s race. By the finish, Tadej Pogačar of UAE Team Emirates – XRG had once again stamped his authority on the Tour, claiming another stage victory and strengthening his position in the overall standings.
Heavy rain made the opening kilometers especially dangerous, turning an already difficult mountain stage into a slippery and unpredictable challenge. As the peloton moved toward the Grand Ballon, a category 3 climb, riders were forced to navigate wet roads, limited visibility and changing race dynamics. Valentin Paret-Peintre was one of the early standouts, cresting the Grand Ballon first to collect valuable mountain classification points. He continued to ride aggressively throughout the stage, also taking points on the Col d’Oderen and the Ballon d’Alsace.
Despite Paret-Peintre’s strong day in the breakaway action, the decisive moment belonged to Pogačar. The Slovenian star launched a powerful attack inside the final 2 kilometers on the last climb, surging clear on the ascent toward the Col du Haag. His acceleration proved too strong for his rivals, and he crossed the line first to earn 10 important mountains points. That result lifted his total to 52 points and allowed him to keep hold of the polka dot jersey as the Tour’s leading climber.
Pogačar’s Stage 14 win marked his fourth stage victory of the 2026 Tour de France and continued his perfect record in the mountain stages so far this year. With another dominant performance, he extended his lead in the general classification and reinforced his status as the rider to beat heading into the next major mountain challenge.
In the official Tour de France Stage 14 results, Pogačar finished the 155.3-kilometer stage from Mulhouse to Le Markstein in 4 hours, 00 minutes and 07 seconds. Isaac Del Toro, also of UAE Team Emirates – XRG, finished second, 38 seconds behind. Paul Seixas of Decathlon CMA CGM Team was third at the same time gap, while Jonas Vingegaard of Team Visma | Lease a Bike placed fourth, 44 seconds back. Remco Evenepoel of Red Bull – BORA – hansgrohe finished fifth at 48 seconds behind Pogačar.
The rest of the Stage 14 top 10 included Juan Ayuso of Lidl – Trek in sixth at 50 seconds back, Florian Lipowitz of Red Bull – BORA – hansgrohe in seventh at the same gap, Richard Carapaz of EF Education – EASYPOST in eighth at 1 minute and 18 seconds, Tobias Johannessen of UNO-X Mobility in ninth at 1 minute and 40 seconds, and Mattias Skjelmose of Lidl – Trek in 10th, also 1 minute and 40 seconds behind.
After Stage 14, Pogačar remains the overall leader of the 2026 Tour de France with a total time of 51 hours, 18 minutes and 28 seconds. Vingegaard sits second overall, 4 minutes and 30 seconds behind, while Evenepoel is third at 5 minutes and 04 seconds back. Seixas holds fourth place at 5 minutes and 19 seconds, just ahead of Ayuso, who is fifth at 5 minutes and 22 seconds.
Lipowitz is sixth overall at 5 minutes and 44 seconds behind Pogačar, followed by Del Toro in seventh at 5 minutes and 50 seconds. Skjelmose is eighth at 7 minutes and 35 seconds, Tom Pidcock of Pinarello-Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team is ninth at 7 minutes and 59 seconds, and Lenny Martinez of Bahrain Victorious rounds out the top 10 at 8 minutes and 25 seconds.
The jersey standings after Stage 14 also reflect Pogačar’s dominance. He continues to wear the yellow jersey as the overall race leader and also holds the polka dot jersey as the leader of the mountains classification. Mads Pedersen of Denmark remains in the green jersey as the points classification leader, while France’s Paul Seixas holds the white jersey as the best young rider.
The 2026 Tour de France continues with Stage 15 on Sunday, July 19, as riders tackle another mountain stage from Champagnole to Plateau de Solaison. Coverage begins at 6:30 a.m. ET, with streaming available on Peacock. The stage is scheduled to cover 155.3 kilometers and could play a key role in shaping the general classification as the race moves deeper into the mountains.
