UIL announces 2025-26 Lone Star Cup winners

   ​AUSTIN – The University Interscholastic League announced the six winners of the 2025-26 UIL Lone Star Cup presented by Texas Farm Bureau Insurance. Gordon, after finishing as runner-up in the 2025 Lone Star Cup, rose to claim the overall title in Conference 1A. The Longhorns earned state championships in football and in both boys and girls track and field, and also finished as state runner-up in baseball. The school advanced to the state semifinals in girls basketball and reached the area playoffs in boys basketball.
With its Conference 2A championship, Shiner secured its sixth Lone Star Cup title overall and its second in the last three years. Shiner claimed a state softball championship, finished as runner-up in football, placed third in boys track and field, and finished fifth in marching band, in addition to winning a district academic title. The Tigers advanced to the state semifinals in volleyball, reached the regional finals in baseball, and competed in the area playoffs in both boys and girls basketball, also appearing at state spirit.
Wall led wire-to-wire in the Conference 3A standings to capture its second Lone Star Cup title. The Hawks highlighted their season with state championships in football and girls basketball and with the most state wins in tennis. Wall finished as state runner-up in both boys golf and boys track and field, and placed fourth in both boys and girls cross country. The Hawks advanced to the state semifinals in volleyball and baseball, reached the regional finals in softball, and competed in the area playoff round in boys basketball, while also making postseason appearances in BEST robotics and spirit.
Peaster finished tied for 17th overall, earning significant points through regional appearances in volleyball and football. The Hounds also competed in girls’ and boys’ basketball, softball, baseball, and team tennis.
Comal Davenport, after back-to-back top-10 finishes, won its first Lone Star Cup by claiming the Conference 4A title. The Wolves finished as state runner-up in marching band and posted fourth-place finishes in girls cross country, boys swimming & diving, and spirit. Greenlighted by strong postseason runs, Davenport advanced to the state semifinals in girls basketball and girls soccer; they reached the regional finals in football, boys basketball, boys soccer and baseball; and advanced to the area playoff round in girls and boys water polo, volleyball and softball. Davenport also added a postseason appearance in team tennis.
Brock finished sixth overall, earning points from team tennis and volleyball, a state appearance in football, and cheer, along with state tournament appearances in girls’ and boys’ basketball, FIRST robotics, and state finalists in baseball and softball. The Eagles previously won the Cup three straight years, with the most recent title in 2021.
Prosper Walnut Grove, in just its third year of competition, claimed the Conference 5A Lone Star Cup title. Key achievements included state championships in boys golf and boys soccer and a sweepstakes award in film.
This year’s results highlight the depth and breadth of UIL competition across multiple conferences, showcasing programs that excel across athletic, artistic, and academic disciplines. The Lone Star Cup trophy recognizes overall excellence, rewarding schools that perform at high levels across a broad spectrum of UIL activities.
