Alabama football wide receiver Noah Rogers has not made his mark since returning from injury. In his first season with the Crimson Tide after transferring from NC State, Rogers has three catches for 55 yards. He’s played 12 snaps at receiver over five games after returning from a lower-body injury he suffered at A-Day.To Kalen DeBoer, it’s not a knock on Rogers, who has “done a really good job coming along.””I think a lot of it is just the other guys that have also taken steps forward throughout the course of the season,” DeBoer said on the SEC Coaches Teleconference Wednesday, Oct. 28. “Rico (Scott) showed up in a big way this last weekend, and he’s been pretty consistent, both as a receiver and a blocker. You know, and I think also just personnel groupings and things like that with what we’ve done with more tight ends, there’s less reps for the wide receivers.” In two seasons at NC State after transferring from Ohio State, Rogers had 68 catches for 919 yards and three touchdowns. And DeBoer sees that potential in Rogers with the Crimson Tide.”We really think highly of Noah. He’s a really good football player and we want to find ways to incorporate him into the offense on a higher level with more opportunities. But that always means like that always means that you’re taking someone else off the field as well.”Colin Gay covers Alabama football for The Tuscaloosa News, part of the USA TODAY Network.
