The World Cup is finally here, with more than 100 matches slated to play across more than a dozen venues.
The 2026 World Cup is from June 11 to July 19, with the United States, Mexico and Canada serving as co-hosts. Mexico kicks off the tournament at 1 p.m. MT/2 p.m. CT on Thursday, June 11, when it hosts South Africa in Mexico City, while the US opens as a favorite the on June 12 against Paraguay in Los Angeles.

Both the United States and Mexico appear to be in manageable groups and both are widely expected to win their groups on home soil and advance to the knockout stages.

Mexico opens as a big favorite against South Africa on Thursday, June 11.
USA will face Paraguay at 7 p.m. MT/6 p.m. CT on Friday, June 12 in Los Angeles.
The World Cup begins with the Mexico tournament on Thursday, June 11.
The first opening ceremony will take place June 11 in Mexico City, where Mexico host South Africa at the Azteca Stadium, according to ESPN. For the first time in FIFA World Cup history, there will be three separate opening ceremonies.

Each pre-game opening ceremony, lasting between 13-17 minutes, takes place 90 minutes before kickoff.
The United States opening ceremony will include performances by, Tyla, Katy Perry, Future, Anitta, LISA and Rema, according to USA TODAY.
Canada faces Bosnia and Herzegovina in its opening match on June 12 – that opening ceremony will feature Alanis Morissette and Michael Bublé, among others.
