Curious about which boxing events are airing on DAZN this weekend? Here is a closer look at the DAZN boxing schedule, including this weekend’s featured fight card and several notable upcoming bouts on what has become an unofficial broadcast home for many of the biggest matchups in the sweet science.
The main DAZN boxing event this weekend features undefeated super middleweight prospect Diego Pacheco making his first appearance of the year against veteran contender Immanuwel Aleem. Pacheco has continued to build momentum as one of the most promising names at 168 pounds, entering the fight with a perfect professional record of 25-0, including 18 knockouts. His last outing came in December, when he faced a tough test against Kévin Lele Sadjo. Pacheco was knocked down for the first time in his career in that fight, but he recovered well and went on to secure a unanimous decision victory, preserving his unbeaten record.
Aleem, meanwhile, comes into the matchup looking to rebound from a unanimous decision defeat to Lester Martinez in March, a bout contested for the vacant WBC super middleweight title. With a record of 22-4-3 and 14 knockouts, Aleem brings experience and durability into the ring. For Pacheco, this fight is another opportunity to prove he belongs among the top rising contenders in the super middleweight division. For Aleem, it is a chance to shake up the division and hand Pacheco the first loss of his career.
Pacheco vs. Aleem takes place on July 18 at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California. The DAZN fight card is scheduled to begin at 8:00 p.m. EDT. The featured bout will see Diego Pacheco face Immanuwel Aleem in a super middleweight contest. The undercard also includes Andy Cruz vs. Abraham Montoya at lightweight, Albert Gonzalez vs. Aaron Lopez Alameda at featherweight, and Saul Sanchez vs. Bruno Rios at bantamweight.
After this weekend’s DAZN boxing card, attention turns to another important event featuring WBC junior flyweight champion Shokichi Iwata. Iwata vs. Badillo is scheduled for July 20, with Iwata making the first defense of his title against unbeaten challenger Erik Badillo. Iwata enters the bout with a record of 16-2 and 13 knockouts. In March, he stopped Knockout CP Freshmart by TKO to become a two-time champion at 108 pounds. Badillo, who is 19-0 with eight knockouts, earned this opportunity after defeating Elwin Soto by unanimous decision last November.
Iwata vs. Badillo will take place at Ryogoku Kokugikan, also known as Sumo Arena, in Tokyo, Japan. The card is scheduled to begin at 3:00 a.m. EDT. The lineup includes Shokichi Iwata vs. Erik Badillo for the WBC junior flyweight title, Kenshiro Teraji vs. Israel Gonzalez for the vacant WBO junior bantamweight title, Riku Masuda vs. Daigo Higa at bantamweight, Katsuma Akitsugi vs. Herlan Gomez at junior featherweight, and Tensho Isobe vs. Ryuga Sato at junior bantamweight.
Another major DAZN boxing event arrives on July 25, when former unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua returns against Kristian Prenga. Joshua, who owns a record of 29-4 with 26 knockouts, is looking to continue his push back toward the top of the heavyweight division. “AJ” is coming off a knockout win over Jake Paul last December, and a victory over Prenga could put him in position for a massive showdown with Tyson Fury later in the year.
Prenga brings danger into the ring with a record of 20-1, and all 20 of his professional wins have come by stoppage. Joshua vs. Prenga is set for July 25 at the Jeddah Superdome in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The DAZN card is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. EDT. The announced lineup includes Anthony Joshua vs. Kristian Prenga at heavyweight, Hamzah Sheeraz vs. Simon Zachenhuber for the WBO super middleweight title, and Josh Kelly vs. Caoimhin Agyarko for the IBF super welterweight title.
Also on July 25, former unified welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr. is set to return from a nearly three-year layoff against Tim Tszyu. Spence, known as “The Truth,” enters with a record of 28-1 and 22 knockouts. His last fight ended in a punishing TKO loss to Terence Crawford in their undisputed welterweight championship bout. Now, Spence looks to reestablish himself against Tszyu in one of the most intriguing upcoming boxing matchups on the DAZN schedule.
