The Toffees target is wanted at the Hill Dickinson Stadium club and he has told the Scottish Premiership champions that he wants to leave. Johnston played all 90 minutes as the Hoops started their title defence with a 1-0 victory, but he wants to leave Celtic for Everton as Blues manager David Moyes eyes a replacement for Seamus Coleman. They have yet to lodge a formal bid for the Canada international, but talks have taken place between the two clubs.Celtic want around £15 million for the 27-year-old, but Everton are also exploring other targets for the priority position. RB Leipzig star Ridle Baku is another option who has been considered. The Germany international is on the Toffees’ radar but nothing concrete has started. Moyes wants an out-and-out right-back, and both Baku and Johnston fit the bill given their impressive performances in the Bundesliga and Premiership, respectively, over the years.
