Former NFL star doesn’t think Rams will make playoffs

The Los Angeles Rams have enough star power to contend for a Super Bowl, but former NFL tight end Rob Gronkowski isn’t convinced they’ll even make the playoffs.Speaking on Up & Adams with Kay Adams, Gronkowski said he’s disappointed with the Rams’ performance through five games, pointing to their inability to consistently dominate opponents despite their talent.”I’m out on them,” Gronkowski said. “I really am, because I’m a little disappointed in their play over five weeks. It’s not like they have shown any domination at all.”Gronk says he is OUT on the Rams in the Super Bowl… and maybe playoffs 😲@RobGronkowski | @heykayadamspic.twitter.com/PB0BOsMNxH— Up & Adams (@UpAndAdamsShow) October 14, 2026The Rams fell to 2-3 after Monday night’s 37-34 overtime loss to the Buffalo Bills. Los Angeles has scored 119 points through five games while allowing 120, an underwhelming return for a team with Matthew Stafford, Puka Nacua and a roster bolstered by several high-profile additions.Stafford has thrown for 1,572 yards and nine touchdowns, but his six interceptions have contributed to an uneven start. The Rams rank first in the NFL in total offense with 424.4 yards per game, yet their production hasn’t consistently translated into wins.Gronkowski pointed to Los Angeles’ 28-6 victory over the New York Giants as its lone convincing performance, arguing that the circumstances surrounding New York’s quarterback situation (they lost Jaxson Dart to a season-ending knee injury in the first half) made that result less impressive. He also highlighted the Rams’ 27-7 season-opening loss to the San Francisco 49ers as an example of their struggles against a division rival. For Gronkowski, the problem extends beyond results. He believes the Rams’ collection of talent could actually be contributing to their inconsistency, with players relying too heavily on their teammates to make big plays.”When you’re super loaded like that, I feel like a lot of players depend on the other player to make a play,” Gronkowski said.He also criticized the defense for allowing too many points and lacking the physicality necessary to compete with the NFL’s best teams. The Rams’ defensive additions, including Myles Garrett, Trent McDuffie, Aaron Donald and Jaylen Watson, have raised expectations for a unit that has yet to consistently deliver. Gronkowski believes the team needs a different mentality rather than relying on its collection of stars to carry it.”They got to go out there with a different mindset,” Gronkowski said, “Instead of relying on, ‘Oh, we got so much talent, we’re going to win this game.'”The Rams will have an opportunity to respond Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals. With a long season still ahead, they have time to turn things around, but Gronkowski’s criticism underscores the gap between their talent and their results. This article originally appeared on Rams Wire: Former NFL star doesn’t think Rams will make playoffs
