The New Orleans Saints will enter training camp with fewer unsettled starting jobs than they had a year ago. That still doesn’t mean there aren’t unanswered questions for Kellen Moore and his staff. Some players on this list are competing for roster spots or larger roles, while others already have secure jobs. Each will help dictate the direction his position group heads over the next several weeks.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementMETAIRIE, LOUISIANA – MAY 28: Tyler Shough #6 of the New Orleans Saints attends the OTA Offseason Workout at Ochsner Sports Performance Center on May 28, 2026 in Metairie, Louisiana. He finished his rookie season leading all first-year quarterbacks in completion percentage, passing yards per game, and wins as a starter. Those marks gave New Orleans reason to believe its late-season surge was sustainable.Shough’s camp should be judged mostly on his command of the offense and leadership. His timing with Jordyn Tyson, control before the snap, and performance in red-zone situations will show whether he is ready to make a second-year jump.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementJul 28, 2025; Metairie, LA, USA; New Orleans Saints running back Kendre Miller (5) runs through the defensive line at Ochsner Sports Performance Center. Mandatory Credit: Stephen Lew-Imagn ImagesTravis Etienne Jr. and Alvin Kamara should occupy the first two spots in the backfield, which leaves Miller in a crowded competition with Devin Neal, Audric Estime, Ty Chandler, and undrafted rookie CJ Donaldson. The first question is how Miller looks after tearing his ACL last season. If his burst is still there, Miller has the size and talent to become a power option behind Etienne and Kamara. If he is limited or unable to separate himself, the younger, healthier options could quickly pass him by.METAIRIE, LOUISIANA – MAY 28: Jordyn Tyson #0 of the New Orleans Saints attends the OTA Offseason Workout at Ochsner Sports Performance Center on May 28, 2026 in Metairie, Louisiana. Chris Olave remains the unquestioned No. 1 receiver, but Tyson will have an immediate opportunity to become Shough’s second option.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementWhere Moore lines Tyson up during training camp will be worth tracking. His size and route-running ability should make him useful on intermediate routes, allowing Olave to continue to produce vertically. Tyson’s ability to beat press coverage and to remain healthy will determine how impactful his role will be in Year 1.METAIRIE, LOUISIANA – MAY 28: Oscar Delp #88 of the New Orleans Saints attends the OTA Offseason Workout at Ochsner Sports Performance Center on May 28, 2026 in Metairie, Louisiana.
