Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams continues to make history. He became the first Bears quarterback to be on the cover of a Madden game this offseason. Williams is the face of Madden 27, which is set to release Aug. 13.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementThe Madden cover was actually leaked earlier this offseason, and after being predicted to be the favorite, Williams was confirmed as the cover athlete for the game. After just one season under Ben Johnson, Williams is now a cover athlete. He’s obviously not the only Bears player in the game, but he’s going to be one of the most used for sure. We’re still a month away from the game’s release, but overall ratings have started to be leaked. An account on X called “MUTleaks” has been slowly leaking ratings over the last week or so. The top 100 player ratings are a big talking point. The Bears have three players in the top 100.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementWilliams came in with a 90 overall; Joe Thuney is a 95, and Jaylon Johnson is rated 90 as well.Chicago also has three of the top 100 rookies. Dillon Thieneman was the highest-rated Bears rookie at 77 overall, with Logan Jones and Zavion Thomas at 72.For Williams, his overall has gone up five points from the last game. His Madden 26 overall rating was an 85.Thuney’s rating actually dropped by one point after being rated 96 overall last year. Johnson’s rating hasn’t changed since Madden 26, even after missing all of 2025 due to injury.Johnson suffered that groin injury in Week 2 last season, but luckily it hasn’t affected his Madden rating.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementIt makes sense that Thieneman is the highest-rated Bears rookie. He is expected to be a starter in year one and is a very versatile player. He took snaps at more than just safety in college at Oregon and Purdue. He also lined up in the box, slot corner, cornerback, and on the defensive line. It’ll be exciting to see how defensive coordinator Dennis Allen uses him this season.Jones isn’t expected to start right away, so his 72 overall rating is on par. He is expected to be the center of the future once the team moves on from Garrett Bradbury. For Thomas, he is kind of a wild card. We already know how good a returner he is, but he has potential as a gadget player in Johnson’s offense. He’ll be another exciting player to watch for the Bears this season.Madden fans in Chicago and neighboring areas have to wait just a little while longer to play with Williams and the Bears when the game releases in just under a month.
