Smith’s YouTube channels this week and was quizzed on the top quarterbacks in the NFL this season. The 2026/27 season is only a few games old, but there are already some standout teams emerging, including the Kansas City Chiefs. And while he did initially forget about the Chiefs star, Patrick Mahomes was named as one of the top five quarterbacks by Bayless.Patrick Mahomes, Brock Purdy, Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, and Joe Burrow named top five QBs by Skip BaylessAfter some back-and-forth, Skip decided his top five is: Patrick Mahomes, Brock Purdy, Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, and Joe Burrow, putting Dak Prescott in sixth place.Bayless initially explained: “Brock Purdy is up there because he’s playing at the highest level without his two, without Stribling and Pearsall, and now it sounds like no Mike Evans. So he’s number one in QBR.“I still think Joe Burrow is way up there. Lamar is still up there. Obviously, Josh Allen is way up there. I don’t like the five-turnover game, but he’s way up there.“So, did I get to five yet or am I at four? Um, who am I forgetting? Um, I’ll put Dak up there. I think Dak has played at an extremely high, just-throwing-the-football level.Smith then replied: “Yeah. So, right now, you’re talking about Patrick Mahomes, you’re talking about Lamar Jackson…”Bayless then remembered: “I left out Patrick Mahomes. That’s who should be in the top five. Yes.”Smith then clarified: “Alright. So, Patrick Mahomes, Brock Purdy, Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, and Dak Prescott?”To which Bayless responded: “No, I’ll take Joe before Dak. I’ll say Dak is sixth.”At the time of writing, the NFL have Purdy sitting top of their quarterback rankings.Mahomes, who of course returned from his injury this season, takes second place.Read more:Andy Reid has a chance to make NFL history during Chiefs vs. Raiders clashJaguars coach reveals the only thing Travis Hunter cares about amid low-usage debate‘Crying on the sideline’- Stephen A.
