Watch it: Jayden Daniels finds Terry McLaurin for a toe-tap touchdown

The Washington Commanders put on pads for the first time on Monday and held an open practice. The beginning of training camp gets everyone excited about football again, but when the pads come out, that’s when things get real. Rookies who have impressed so far have to prove they can do it for real, and the veterans often show the newcomers what it looks like to get the job done.A prime example of veterans showing off is this zinger from Jayden Daniels to Terry McLaurin for a touchdown.Terry McLaurin already in mid-season shape. Putting on a show today pic.twitter.com/7UVanzSMcy— brady (@burgermanders) August 3, 2026There’s some pre-snap motion and adjustment on the defensive side of the ball. Once the ball is snapped, though, Daniels drops back and slings the ball over Mike Sainristil, where McLaurin catches it in the corner of the end zone. The ball is placed where only McLaurin can catch it, showing that Daniels hasn’t lost a step during his time away. This is the connection we’ve been dying to see again. In 2024, McLaurin and Daniels connected on 82 passes for 1,089 yards and 13 touchdowns en route to an NFC Championship appearance. Last season, Daniels played in only seven games, and McLaurin, for the first time in his career, missed seven games with injuries. There are a lot of questions around this offense and whether they have the tools to be as dynamic as they were in 2024. Daniels and McLaurin set out to disabuse the negativity and prove that they are back, and this play shows that they are locked in and ready to show out in 2026.This article originally appeared on Commanders Wire: Watch it: Jayden Daniels finds Terry McLaurin for a toe-tap touchdown
